IIFA award for Newcomers
Bollywood's sizzling pair celebrates as IIFA did not disappoint the newcomers. Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone were adjudged best debutant actors at this year's International Indian Film Academy awards here on Sunday night.Ranbir's debut vehicle "Saawariya" was pitted against Deepika's "Om Shanti Om". Though Saawariya did not fare well at the Box Office, the chocolate faced Ranbir got his due recognition. Om Shanti Om did wonders for Deepika and gave her the best launch pad any newcomer would hope for.


Aish-Abhi buy home in Dubai
Bollywood's star couple Abhishek and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan have purchased a house in Dubai, it is expected to be ready in the first quarter of 2010. According to the developers, the price of the villas ranges from AED 15 million to AED 35 million (1 AED=0.272 USD)

The 54th National Film Awards 2006
The 54th National Film Awards for the year 2006 were announced on Tuesday at Sashtri Bhavan in New Delhi. Priyanandan's Malayalam film Pulijanmam, which stars Murali, bagged the award for the Best Film while Bollywood director Rajkumar Hirani's Lage Raho Munnabhai was adjudged the Best Popular Film providing wholesome entertainment.Director Madhur Bhandarkar won the Best Director award for his film Traffic Signal.Best Hindi Film went to debutant director Dibakar Bannerjee’s hit film Khosla Ka Ghosla.


Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na
Aamir Khan's nephew Imran Khan is already getting popular, what with Mamu Aamir promoting his nephew Imran full on ahead of his film Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na's release.



Sallu Bhai's New Girl

Director Anil Sharma, along with Vijay Ghalani, the producer of Salman's latest film Veer, are still looking for the perfect female face to act opposite Sallubhai. Apparently, Sharma was planning to cast Jean-Claude Van Damme's daughter Bianca Damme for the role earlier. Later, it was also heard that Katrina Kaif's sister Isabel was being considered for the role. But both Sharma and big sis' Katrina have denied the rumour. Veer is a period film based in the 1800s with Salman playing a Good Samaritan. He is also the writer of the story.
